Avant-Garde Lighting and Modern Kitchen Design in Austin
A sophisticated residential transformation centered on high-end, sculptural light fixtures and a minimalist kitchen palette. This project showcases the intersection of architectural lighting and clean, modern lines.
The Vision
In this luxury residential project, the design narrative was driven by the client's collection of bespoke, modern light fixtures. The goal was to create a clean, minimalist backdrop that allowed these expensive, sculptural elements to serve as the home's primary aesthetic anchors. We collaborated closely with the client to ensure every fixture was perfectly positioned to maximize both illumination and visual impact.
The Lighting Program
The centerpiece of the home is a series of high-end installations. In the kitchen, a massive horizontal copper and frosted glass pendant hangs over the island, providing a warm, metallic contrast to the cool whites of the space. In the living areas, we installed an organic, multi-arm ceiling sculpture and a tall, textured paper column pendant. Each of these pieces required precise structural mounting and electrical placement to integrate seamlessly with the architectural lines of the home.
Materiality and Craft
Beyond the lighting, the kitchen features professional-grade finishes designed for longevity. We installed crisp white cabinetry paired with a detailed herringbone tile backsplash that adds subtle texture without competing with the copper fixture. The island is topped with a seamless white quartz surface, complemented by stainless steel appliances and a dedicated wine refrigeration unit. Large-format windows invite natural light to play off the metallic surfaces and organic forms, creating a space that feels both gallery-like and functional. The result is a residence where modern engineering meets artistic expression through high-end lighting design.
